2025: the year of Cézanne in Aix-en-Provence
Cézanne is making his grand return to Aix-en-Provence in 2025, and what a return it is! A whole year to (re)discover the master of modern painting through an exceptional exhibition, renovated iconic sites, and an entire city celebrating its child prodigy.
From Mas de Kaleiris in Forcalquier, you're just 50 minutes from Aix-en-Provence.
A perfect location for organising your painting courses and taking advantage of the artistic effervescence around Cézanne in the heart of Haute-Provence!
Until October 12, 2025, the Musée Granet is hosting a major international exhibition dedicated to Paul Cézanne and his family country house, the Jas de Bouffan. You can admire more than 130 works—paintings, drawings, and watercolors—from the world's greatest museums (Musée d'Orsay, MET, Tokyo, London, etc.) brought together here.
A place of life and inspiration for nearly 40 years, the Jas de Bouffan is presented here as the beating heart of Cézanne's creativity.
Bathers, still lifes, portraits, and emblematic landscapes are revealed through a sensitive journey, combining emotion and immersion.
A unique opportunity to discover Cézanne in the intimacy of his native Provence!
Another highlight this year is the reopening of the Jas de Bouffan, a family home and a veritable creative laboratory, with its restored rooms, its traditional park, and even a unique mural.
A few steps away, the Lauves studio also unveils new spaces and objects familiar to the painter. You can almost feel his presence.
Are you passionate about art or simply curious? This Cézanne Year is an invitation to slow down, to look at things differently... and to experience the rhythm of the landscapes that inspired his work.
